What size are your hats?

Our cocktail hats are designed to "perch" on the top of your head (as opposed to fitting the crown) and are therefore "one size fits all"

 

How do they stay on?

A hat elastic is fitted to each cocktail hat, this sits at the back of you head and the hat is positioned just touching your forehead. Elastics are very comfortable to wear and work with lots of different hairstyles - even cropped! Standard colourway is dark brown but please ask if you would like champagne blonde, light brown, silver grey or black instead.

 

How do I store my hat?

All our hats come with a hatbox - keep it in here loosely in acid free tissue paper. Then there's no danger of squashing it or it fading on a sunny dressing table.

 

I've seen the hat I like but want it in a different colour!

Just ask us - but remember that many of our designs use antique or vintage trimmings that it may not be possible to replicate, we can usually create something similar for you though.

 

Tell me about your bespoke service...

If you have a special occasion, we'll design a cocktail hat tailored to you & your outfit. Contact the workshop to arrange a visit and try on some different shapes and styles - there's no obligation. Please provide us with details of your outfit - if you can't bring it in, a photograph or picture with colour swatches will help us best. 

 

When you're happy with a design, we'll confirm your order, take a deposit and get to work. We can send you e-mail pictures of progress and ask you to come for a final try-on before taking your finished piece home. Ideally, please allow 4-6 weeks for this service (this gives us time to order materials), of course, if you have less time we'll do our very best to accommodate you.

 

Can you make me a vintage style hat?

We've created hats in the style of the 1850's to the 1950's!  If you're seeking a period style, we'll research a design to compliment your outfit. We have many period ribbons, feathers and trims for an authentic look.

 

Do you make bridal pieces?

Yes! We have had several bridal commisions, for brides who are looking for a unique headpiece. We will be launching a small collection in Spring showcasing some of our designs.
